Ever come across one of these? 😱 This is a lamprey, a jawless blood-sucking eel-like fish. Scientists are happy to have found 91 of them migrating up from South Australia’s Coorong through to the Murray River system. The ancient and native species was feared to be on the brink of extinction after the Millennium Drought. Scientists used microchip-like pit tags to track the species.
