Ombudsman: Grant mayor committed misconduct

The State Ombudsman has ruled that Grant District mayor Richard Sage committed misconduct by “failing to declare and appropriately deal with a material conflict of interest.”

A decision will be made at tonight’s council meeting regarding the recommendations that SA Ombudsman Wayne Lines set out in his 21-page report which includes a requirement that Mr Sage undertake training and make a public apology in relation to his misconduct, and refusing to follow council’s Charter of Agreed Behaviours.
